Solda in winter
The winter finally covers all the colors with deep snow and the frolicking of the people on the ski slopes, cross-country skiing trails and other entertainment facilities in the village is now colorful.
Skiing
The skiing resort Solda is thanks to its high location (1900 -3250m ) very snow-sure (from November to May). A total of 40 km of ski-runs are available to winter sports enthusiasts. You can reach the two chairlifts (Kanzel and Langenstein) on foot, directly from our hotel. A new slope connects the Kanzel with the valley station of the cable car (Madritsch)
The Madritsch cable car is approx. 1.5 km away and can be reached also with the free ski bus, which leaves in front of our hotel every 15 minutes, or you can easily ski from the Kanzel chair lift to the valley station of the Solda (Madritsch) cable cars. The pistes are mainly groomed with natural snow and deep snow freaks will also find ideal conditions there. There are 2 practice lifts for beginners, which can also be reached with the ski bus. In Solda you will almost never find waiting times at the lifts.
cross country skiing
The trail is in the immediate vicinity of our hotel. 10 kilometers of perfectly groomed trails across the unique valley floor at the foot of the Ortler massif. On the varied high-altitude trail (1900m) you will have unforgettable cross-country skiing pleasure.
The perfectly groomed natural snow run from the end of November to April is ideal for gentle gliding with friends, classic or skating, to keep fit or for demanding training.
SnowboaRD
The slopes in Solda are ideal for snowboarders. Natural snow and ideal slopes guarantee ideal conditions to perfect your cornering technique. Near the Madritschhütte is a half pipe and a fun park for all freestylers. Freeriders will find plenty of great slopes in the Sulden ski area that they can tackle with their skis. A special highlight is the breathtaking deep snow descent from the Schöntaufspitze (3,200 m) to the cable car valley station (1,900 m).
tobogganing
The Suldner toboggan run is the connecting slope from the Kanzel to the cable car, which is used for tobogganing in the evening and at night. The two-km-long slope is illuminated three times a week from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Since the toboggan run only has a slight incline, the whole family can have fun. Toboggans (sleds) can be hired from any ski hire shop in Sulden.
SKI TOURS

Solda offers ideal conditions for tourers. From easy tours along the slopes to challenging ones in the high mountains. The area around the Ortler and the Königsspitze leaves nothing to be desired. Especially in spring they find ideal conditions. Of course, you can also book guided tours with the Ortler Alpine School.

snowshoeing
Experience and enjoy the tranquility and unspoilt nature in a snow-covered mountain world. The alpine school offers guided hikes. The special snowshoes can be hired there.
ice climbing
In winter you can try ice climbing in the waterfalls on the Legerwand. The mountain guides of the Ortler Alpine School offer an ice climbing course.
